We'll help with the setup of Vendors and Items to create Templates by work area. Costs are consistently classified on every invoice, every month, every location, every time!

Counts on digital Order Worksheets are re-assembled into POs by vendor, which are sent via text, email, or web-service integration. No more calling, faxing, or re-keying of data from paper worksheets.

Bills received digitally from vendors or digitized from POs are sent to the accounting and recipe-costing systems. Data is never manually entered into multiple systems; paper invoice images are saved to eliminate search headaches during audit time.

Area templates are the foundation for Inventory, which can include house-made items and additional inventory count areas. Inventory valuations are calculated using FIFO invoice costs, resulting in accurate, real-time food and beverage costs.

back​book was cofounded in Minneapolis in 2015 by Rick Webb, a veteran restauranteur who currently owns Ciao Bella and Zelo in Minneapolis, and Paul Lundberg, a software engineer with a proven track record as a technology leader having founded multiple technology product companies. Eileen Lundberg, CPA, a former CFO with extensive operation systems background, joined the management team in 2016.

Rick knew there had to be a better way to run his restaurants other than the pile of orders, invoices, and spreadsheets cluttering up the back offices. He searched for something as simple to use as his smartphone apps. When he couldn't find one, he and Paul set out on a mission to build backbook for the way a restaurant back office really operates.
